Explore the increasing role of AI in the new normal

Novel Coronavirus Update.

TechNOVA: AI in Financial Services has been postponed.

We recently made the difficult decision to postpone TechNOVA: AI in Financial Services, previously due to take place on 17 March. We reached this decision in response to the concerns over the increasing spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

We are now able to announce the new date for the conference. The event will take place on 21 September 2020, at the Business Design Centre in London.

Our primary focus continues to be creating opportunities for the financial services sector to come together to learn, spark ideas, and critically, do business. We are looking forward to being able to do just that with the rescheduled TechNOVA: AI in Financial Services, which, with the extra time we will have to prepare, we hope will be stronger and more engaging than ever.

The need for digital transformation in financial services has skyrocketed. Advanced analytics, artificial intelligence and RPA are all part of the future journey and necessary to thrive during the new normal. Are you ready to take on change?

Get up to speed with the latest developments and innovations at TechNOVA: AI in Financial Services – the event that brings you leading insights from the financial sector’s technology pioneers.

From business transformation to robotic automation, customer innovation to ethical transparency this event will equip you with the skills and expertise to capitalise on the artificial intelligence revolution.

Industrialising data science in financial services: bridging the gap between quants & IT

The financial sector has to implement and support a wide range of challenging AI use-cases. Fraud, robo advisors, recommendation engines, digital assistants, and risk analysis are all areas where machine learning plays a crucial role for banks, investment companies, and insurance companies. At the same time these companies employ people with different quantitative skills – from maths PhDs to SMEs turned citizen data scientists. The toolset for groups with different skill levels differs substantially, and this presents an even bigger challenge when it comes to operationalisation and monitoring of models. In this session we will talk about what it takes to build an end-to-end Data Science platform that can cater to the needs of diverse user groups, ease the pressure on IT by promoting self-service, and at the same time provides strict controls and facilitates the reproducibility and traceability that is mandated by regulators.

  • Developing a white box strategy: effective strategies for overcoming black box opacity
  • Avoiding algorithmic bias: what processes need to be implemented to ensure a transparent approach to data modelling?
  • What steps need to be undertaken to create trackable data models?
  • In an age of increasing data breaches, how can firms ensure that customer data is safeguarded properly?
